JOSHUA BURNS
LPC, NCC

Josh is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor. He graduated with honors from Denver Seminary where he received his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Josh graduated Cum Laude from John Brown University with a BS in Family & Human Services and Child & Family Studies.  Josh has received additional specialized training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) model.

Josh has experience working with adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples in private practice, school-based counseling, community mental health, non-profit, and ministry settings.  He is committed to providing a space and platform for children and their families to experience safety, care, and continued engagement in their mental, emotional, and relational health. Whether processing major life transitions, growing in their ability to navigate tough emotions, or continuing to master the skills to manage focus or impulse control, Josh provides a welcoming therapeutic space to walk alongside individuals and families. Being able to provide hope to clients as they journey toward healing is what fuels Josh’s passion for counseling.

Josh is married and has two children. He and his beloved bride are originally from the Midwest but are enjoying raising their daughters here in Northwest Arkansas. Josh enjoys good stories; from those in the fantasy novels he reads, to the movies he enjoys with his wife, to sitting around the table with a group of friends playing tabletop RPGs and other games.

Play is often talked about as if it were relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.
